FLYFOOD started in a Lagos backyard in 2021, with a coal grill, a borrowed cooler and a very strong opinion about cold food.
2021 · The beginning
A whole fish, wrapped in newspaper, and a promise.
Our founder, Emeka, grew up watching his grandmother grill whole fish over charcoal — pepper, smoke, patience. When he moved to Lagos, he ordered the same food from delivery apps and got a sad, soggy version of everything he loved.
So he bought a grill. The first night, he sold twelve orders out of the back of his car, each one packed in newspaper wrapped in a foam box, and delivered hot by a rider who doubled as the customer service team.
People noticed. Not just that the food was good — that it arrived like it meant something. That was the moment FLYFOOD became about more than food: it became about respect.
